A quick request. If you plan on downloading this and putting it on your YouTube channel or your own bootleg page - I don't mind. But a credit to this website where you found it, and a link back to this page would be really appreciated. It helps me gauge which artists are popular - ie more chance of other restorations coming. Don't just steal it, cut out the intro and outro and take the credit. Thanks.
***2023 UPDATE***
This show has now been re-restored from scratch, and improved a lot I think. The sound was pretty thin on the original recording with the drums barely audible. Noise reduction first and then out came the toys; I've been able to beef up the sound rather more now and bring some more of the raw power that was The Ramones playing live. Download it from the link below and let me know what you think!
The new version of this show is available to download or stream HERE as 1 MP3 file.
A band hugely influential on punk rock - The Ramones, in an outdoor concert in San Francisco. Its sobering that of this lineup, only Marky Ramone is still with us; Johnny, Joey and Dee Dee, all passing away some years ago.
Some parts of this gig at least are available on video on youtube. The sound of those, like the original audio I obtained elsewhere is quite muddy and dull. So this one had tape noise removed and some EQ to bring out the drums a bit and take away the harshness of the sound and try to make things sound a bit fuller overall. In common with many gigs, the sound balance is a bit off at the start but quickly improves as the sound engineer sorted things out on the first song. Anyway! Enjoy it!

Supporting The Site
If
you want to support the work I do,
and this site, and obtain separate, fully tagged 320kbps MP3s of this
restoration for less than the price of a coffee in return, or
even lossless FLACs, head on over to the Rewards For Donations tab to see how you can obtain these for a very small donation towards the
site costs. There is no obligation to do so of course - you can take
the file on this page absolutely for free - but every single donation
does go towards this site and domain/storage costs, and helps the site
stay open, and helps me do more shows. Either way, enjoy the show.

ReplyDeleteI was at this show. It was a blistering hot day in SF, unusual (back then) during the summer. I wasn't much of a punk fan, but their performance turned this Dead Head around. So much power, commitment, and courage in their music. And very funny too.
ReplyDeleteI only recently listened to this again as I was improving it and loved it. Great attitude they had; nobody quite like The Ramones. Thanks for commenting.
