In 1990, Jean Michel Jarre released his 10th studio album, Waiting For Cousteau, dedicated to marine conservationist Jacques Cousteau, on Cousteau’s 80th birthday on 11 June. A month later he promoted the album with a huge live event in Paris, on Bastille Day. Backed by many of his usual collaborators on synthesisers and drums, he was joined by a steel band, a choir and enormous marionettes alongside the usual extravagant light show. The show was watched by an estimated 2.5 million people live in the city, setting a new record.
The original copy of the FM broadcast I had given to me (thank you, you know who you are!) was quite thin and compressed but with some patient EQ and fixing a couple of defects, now sounds far better, if not entirely compression free.
In the 1990s a VHS video was issued of this show but that had tracks missing; this recording does have all tracks present. Incidentally, in common with other French broadcast recordings I have, they do like to talk in between tracks! So you will hear the odd spoken link in between tracks, as well as at the end of the recording before M. Jarre says his final farewell.

Read the notes above, brave anonymous poster - the source I had (which was indeed FLAC) was "thin and compressed". I worked to improve what I had - in a WAV file created from the FLACs - so all losslessly. I've even said after the work I put in it's still not "compression free". Perhaps you missed that part?
DeleteThe 320kbps file (not sure where you get 128kbps from - check the file properties) on the site was saved from the final WAV file. The separated FLACs that 1 or 2 donators have received are saved from that WAV file too.
If you have a better set of source files be sure to get in touch and I would happily do this show again and send you a free copy of the remaster for your trouble.
Or disappear back into the internet and post inaccurate nonsense elsewhere - your choice. Have a great day. :-)
I remember there was only 128 kbps mp3 circulating around, and then some guy decided to convert them all into FLACs and SCH just to be able to share them on a DC hub. I have serious doubts the original was ever lossless. I actually used to own the broadcast cassette in my old home , but my folks don't want to bother shipping it... Maybe someday. (I'm AERO62 from zoolook)
DeleteWell I never ever pretend anything is anything other than what it is - I wouldn't have a clue if the original was a 128kbps file from years ago that someone once turned into flacs. I only ever state what I have to work on and what the original sounded like. Ultimately what matters is whether it sounds better than the source that I had - and in every case they do. As always, the results are freely downloadable from this site. Anonymous posters falsely accusing me of being some kind of crook after I spend days on these things get short shrift...
