Show 132 - IAMX - Live At The Flex Club, Vienna - 28 April 2006

This was (I think) originally a flat mono recording given away as MP3s on the IAMX website at the time - along with a few others being regularly uploaded back then. It wasn't as long as I originally thought - the set I downloaded at the time had duplicate tracks in it, with the intro being repeated. It also had Missile listed, which didn't appear at all! I guess all may be errors from whoever transferred the recording to digital at the time.

Anyway, once I sorted all that out, I processed the sound to give it more of an imitation stereo image, then got to work beefing up the recording with 30 band EQ (the original had very little bass and kick drum). You can now hear the kick and bass, and the vocals are much clearer, with the whole thing sounding more "complete" sound-wise than it was.

Hopefully you enjoy this one now - it's a great (albeit short!) sounding record of IAMX on stage at that time, from just when their 2nd album, The Alternative, had just been released; so the set features tracks from both that and the debut, Kiss and Swallow.

You can download all of this improved recording for free here as one 320 kbps MP3 file.

Or, if you would like to support the site with a small donation towards storage subscription and internet costs, in return you can have the remastered show as separate, properly tagged MP3s or even lossless files in FLAC format; head on over to the Donations tab to see how you can do this.

Either way - enjoy the show!

Show 131 - Talk Talk - Live At The Paris Theatre, London - Early 1982

FREE DOWNLOAD OF SEPARATED, TAGGED MP3s

Exactly a year since we returned from a Winter break with a new season of shows, we return with a special commemoration to mark the sad passing of Mark Hollis this week, the singer and creative force behind the band Talk Talk who tragically died after a short illness aged 64.

By way of a tribute, we've remastered this short set broadcast on 10 April 1982. This is a lively, if short set from the original four piece lineup of Talk Talk, showcasing songs from their 1st album, The Party's Over. The original recording I had access to was very bass heavy - so much work was done reducing that; so you can turn this up a bit without hurting your ears! It now sounds clear and punchy, with all vocals and instruments being heard.

To avoid any accusations of cashing in on the sad death of Mark Hollis, this show is available for free as separated, tagged 320kbps MP3s in a zip, here - no donation required for this one.

If you still wish to just download the show as the usual regular free single 320kbps MP3 file, you can do so here.
